Cubs vs. White Sox

Being a Cub fan i have to post against Dan's pro white Sox theory. I'm pretty sure there are more Cub fans than there are Sox fans in our class and that is how it should be. Why would anyone want to root for a team that through away the world series for only a few hundred bucks? The most coveted award in sports and you don't want to win it even though you knew you were going to. Also how many traditions do the white sox have compared to the cubs? Lets see the Disco burning in the 70's and beating the crap out of a base coach in the middle of a game. And apparently fraud of taken money for own profit. Ours are a lot more traditional, better atmosphere, more bars around and beautiful women. Now i know no one can argue that last segiment of my post. Also what about all the famous people like billy crystal, joe belushi, and bill murray. Overall were just a lot more fun and we dont start fights like our south side counterparts. Class is more important that anything and we possess that more than anyother ball club.

What Pig says here shows his dedication to a real baseball team with real fans. The only reason these days that the White Sox have fans is because of a World Series back in '05. There are sox fans out there that say they would root for the Cubs if they made it to the series......NO CUB'S FAN EVER WOULD ROOT FOR THE CHICAGO WHITE SOX! I believe Sox fans are just Cub fans that don't know baseball and Pig shows that in his blog.

Right on Austin. This is to dan who doesnt know his baseball right or wrong. I just happen to disagree strongly with him on his opinion. I remember in 2005 when the sox were in the world series and i would root for them to lose every day. But its the sox fans that would hop on the band wagon and tip it over when the cubs went to the playoffs. well here is my suggestion for that, STAY OFF THE WAGON BECAUSE WE DONT WANT YOU ON IT TO CRASH IT!!!!

I have to agree that the Cubs are the best team around. I agree with the fact that a real cubs fan is a cubs fan for life and would not cheat and root for another team. if you date a cubs fan you will not get cheated on. through the thick and the thin a cubs fan will stick there through it all. GO CUBS!!!!!

As a die-hard Cubs fan I agree with everything that's been said by i am not pig and iam the pig!!!!.

Did anyone else notice in 2005 that no one showed up to the Sox home games in April. Magically, in October, the seats were full. Where were all the fans in April? The Cubs were last place last year and set a record for attendance.
Thats a little something called loyalty.

I like this quote I saw
somewhere.... "White Sox fans: Love your team more than you hate ours". I'm tired of my friends that are Sox fans giving me all this crap about the Cubbies. Its pretty funny that they are making fun of the Cubs getting swept. Sox fans fail to remember what garbage they saw from their team this year. Sure, the Cubs got swept but they did win the division. A Sox fan making fun of a Cubs fan is like a person driving Geo Metro making fun of a guy driving a Lamborghini with a burned out tail light.

OK. 1, the sox won the world series in 2005; cubs didn't. that should be the end of story right there, but i'm assuming i probably have to write more than just one sentence.

i'm also sure the crappy-ass cubs just got done blowing it this year in the playoffs. they were swept by arizona, right? i couldn't tell ya the actual outcome honestly. i didn't waste my time watching such a crappy series.

and oh yeah, also, who the hell is joe belushi? you say he's a famous cubs fan of yours. i mean, i've heard of john belushi and i've heard of jim belushi, but who the hell is joe? he can't be that famous if you can't even find the guy on google.

Ok they have/had the Tribune co. fo r advertisement and what not. If there were to be a chess match at Wrigley that sell out... Don't forget the financial difference between the two team's supporters. I like both but prefer the Sox since their fans aren't so ignorant. To go back on that Cub fan loyalty, according to the elderly fans, they prefer to watch games on TV now. Only because of the stuck up kids that go to watch the cubs at Wrigley these days. So basically both teams have their strong(er) year(s) and their division's strength constantly changes. To me it seems like the Sox have a tougher division based on wins for 2005/07: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/index.jsp?ymd=20051002
for 07: http://mlb.mlb.com/mlb/standings/index.jsp
However, that doesn't make them the better team. Point is the Cubs were better than the sox this year and good for them, but they choked once again in the playoffs. To the d-backs who didn't even make it to the world series. If I remember correctly the Sox had their brooms out pretty much the entire post-season with one loss to ruin a complete sweep of their opponents in the post. The cubs...0-3 this year, back in 2003 they were 6-6. So the sox rose over their opponents in their prime and the cubs just aren't that dominant yet, but they'll be eventually. "Next year...Next year...Next year..."
